Theme: “Building Resilient Communities: Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalism.”

Conference Dates: 07-08 September 2023

The annual OPAPRU Peace Research Conference serves as the site and platform for advancing knowledge on peace and elevating national conversations on peace work, peacebuilding, and peace and security.

The theme is centered on interventions, replicable practices, and strategies from various sectors of society as violent extremism and radicalism is prevented and/or countered. This includes initiatives from the government, the private sector, and their various collaborations to address economic, cultural, psychosocial, and religious factors of radicalization that lead to violent extremism and radicalism.

The OPAPRU invites presentations from the academic community, national government agencies, civil society organizations, peace practitioners, and research collaborators to submit their research and think pieces particularly on the prospects and challenges of Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalism in the Philippines, and even abroad.
