Assalamu Alaykum! May the peace of Allah be upon all of us!

As members of the Muslim faith around the world celebrate the start of the holy month of Ramadan, I, together with my colleagues at the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, would like to wish our Muslim brothers and sisters, a Ramadan Mubarak (a blessed Ramadan).

Ramadan is a month devoted to fasting, prayer and almsgiving. Most of all, this is a time for honoring Allah and commemorating the revelation of the Holy Qur’an. May this occasion provide all of us an opportunity for self-reflection and further strengthen the bond that unites all of us as Filipinos.

We believe that when solidarity, cooperation and understanding reign within us, their dividends are felt by everyone regardless of tribe, culture or religion. May the month of Ramadan therefore bring us closer to our collective aspiration as a people – genuine and enduring peace.

Again, we would like to wish our Muslim brethren a blessed and peaceful Ramadan!
