GPH, Moro fronts vow to strengthen partnership to fulfill Bangsamoro peace commitments

COTABATO CITY, APRIL 14, 2023 – The national government and the country’s major Moro fronts have vowed to strengthen their collaboration to ensure the full implementation of all Bangsamoro peace agreements.

This, after Secretary Isidro L. Purisima, acting Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, met separately with Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chair Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Central Committee Chair Muslimin Sema on Friday.

OPAPRU continues relief efforts in storm-stricken MILF, MNLF communities in Mindanao

MATANOG, MAGUINDANAO (21 November 2022) — To augment the national government’s disaster relief efforts in provinces affected by Typhoon Paeng in the Bangsamoro region and neighboring areas, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) continued the distribution of assistance packages to victims.

The OPAPRU’s relief operations are focused on Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) communities that were severely hit by the typhoon.

OPAPRU conducts IEC campaign on Transformation Program for MNLF members in Sulu

INDANAN, SULU — Presidential Peace Adviser Sec. Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. flew to this island-province on September 19 to lead the information and education campaign on the Transformation Program for Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) members, their families and communities.

The IEC campaign series is part of the efforts of the Government of the Philippines (GPH), through the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), to ensure accurate information on the Transformation Program are disseminated to the combatants, their families and communities.

Major milestones achieved under the Bangsamoro peace process 3 months into Marcos admin’s term – Galvez

DAVAO CITY (21 September 2022) – Less than three months into its term, major milestones have already been achieved under the Marcos administration’s peace agenda for the Bangsamoro.

Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Sec. Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has shown his resolve to move forward the Bangsamoro peace process with the appointment of the 80-member Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).

“True to the call for inclusivity, the new composition of the BTA is composed of representatives from the Moro National Liberation Front’s (MNLF) Misuari and Sema-Jikiri groups, as well as the sons and daughters of top Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) leaders,” Galvez said.
