GPH, Moro fronts vow to strengthen partnership to fulfill Bangsamoro peace commitments

COTABATO CITY, APRIL 14, 2023 – The national government and the country’s major Moro fronts have vowed to strengthen their collaboration to ensure the full implementation of all Bangsamoro peace agreements.

This, after Secretary Isidro L. Purisima, acting Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, met separately with Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chair Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Central Committee Chair Muslimin Sema on Friday.

PBBM lauds CAB’s successful implementation 

PASAY CITY (27 March 2023) – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., lauded the remarkable progress made under the political and normalization tracks of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

In a video message aired during the commemoration of the CAB’s 9th Anniversary, President Marcos commended the Bangsamoro Government, which is being led by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), for the agreement’s successful implementation.

“Under our administration, the political and normalization tracks of the peace agreement continue to gain momentum. Our partners in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) continue to deliver on their commitments in both tracks with the recent passing of the critical Bangsamoro Electoral Code,” the President said.

Joint Statement on the Passage of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 35

JOINT STATEMENT

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

We extend our warmest congratulations to the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament for the passage of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 35, otherwise known as the Bangsamoro Electoral Code, on March 08, 2023.

The unanimous enactment of the Electoral Code with 64 affirmative votes, 0 negative votes, and 0 abstentions reflects the strong commitment and unity of the BTA to provide a law that would enable a peaceful and credible elections in 2025 and beyond.
