Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh! May the peace and mercy of the Almighty be upon us all.
On behalf of the men and women of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, I extend our warmest greetings to the Muslim Ummah as you celebrate Eid al Adha or the ‘Feast of Sacrifice.’
On this sacred day, we commemorate the Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering obedience and faith, as he willingly followed Allah’s command even if it meant sacrificing his own son – a reminder to all Muslims to keep the faith in the midst of challenges.
Prophet Ibrahim also shows us the importance of making sacrifices to achieve a higher purpose. Although Filipinos are composed of different faiths, we are bound by the principles of selflessness, compassion and empathy.
May the great Prophet serve as an example not only to the members of the Muslim faith but to all Filipinos that we must not be afraid to go beyond our comfort zones, reach out, and help those who are most in need.
Let us remember that for every act of kindness, compassion, and generosity that we do, we are building the foundations where genuine and long-lasting peace can firmly take root and flourish.
Once again, our sincerest greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters on this special day. May Allah continue to bless you and your families with joy, good health, and peace. Eid Mubarak!
