[IN PHOTOS] Mindanao Working Group Meeting

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process in partnership with the Mindanao Development Authority organized the Mindanao Working Group (MWG) Meeting today, 8 February 2017, to present and discuss the proposed Mindanao Peace and Development Framework, explore options on new funding mechanisms, and agree on the MWG terms of reference.

The meeting was attended by officials and representatives of various international development partners such as The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, Japan International Cooperation Agency and many more. Representatives from the diplomatic community and national government agencies were also present.

The MWG is a coordination mechanism envisioned to harmonize development partners’ requirements and approaches in providing assistance to partners and communities affected by conflict in Mindanao. It aims to achieve a cohesive, secure, and inclusively developed Mindanao where communities in conflict-affected areas are free from violence and deprivation of dignity, rights, and access to basic services.
